VILLAGE INCOME TAX FORMS
Individual and Estimated Quarterly Income Tax forms will only be available online or at the Village offices.  Many area municipalities are taking advantage of technology, which reduces costs of printing and mailing of the forms.  Questions and concerns should be directed to the Income Tax office at (419) 898-1611 or Fiscal Officer at (419) 898-5561.

INCOME TAX ORDINANCE
On August 4, 1970 the Village of Oak Harbor enacted Income Tax Ordinance 623 imposing a tax of 1% effective October 1, 1970. The tax is imposed on all residents of Oak Harbor regardless of where they are employed, all non-residents of Oak Harbor for work done, services performed or rendered in the Village of Oak Harbor. Tax returns are due on or before April 15 each year. Quarterly estimates are required.

All Village of Oak Harbor residents must file annual village income tax returns, whether or not they have been fully withheld and/or have a municipal income tax to another community. As a result, many questions arise. Please consult the Frequently Asked Questions section available through the left menu.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING TAX CREDIT

On December 1, 2014 the Village of Oak Harbor Council passed Ordinance No. 19-2014 repealing the income tax credit paid to another municipality.  This credit is still available for the 2014 tax year filing.  However, January 1, 2015 this credit will no longer be available when you file your 2015 village tax return in 2016.   For example, you work in Anytown, OH and Anytown, OH City taxes are withheld from your pay, in addition to the Anytown, OH local tax withheld, you will also have to pay the Village of Oak Harbor 1% income tax rate.  This can be done a couple of different ways.  Contact your payroll department and request the additional 1% for Oak Harbor be withheld from your paycheck.  If your employer will not offer this courtesy withholding, you can make quarterly payments.  In the back of the tax form booklet are quarterly declaration coupons.  For example, in 2015, if you make $10,000.00 a quarter, your Village of Oak Harbor income tax due per quarter would be $100.00.  If you make these quarterly payments, when it is time to file your tax return on April 15, 2016, you will have paid your taxes and not have to make the full $400.00 yearly payment all at one time.  If you choose not to make quarterly payments, you must make payment in full when you file your taxes.  All income tax forms are available online.  The Income Tax office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 146 N. Church Street.  Please stop in or call 419-898-1611 for any questions.
